How Zevij-Necomij Enhanced Product Data Management for Its Members

January 31, 2025

A More Flexible Solution for Wholesale Product Data

Zevij-Necomij is a purchasing organization serving technical wholesalers and the professional hardware trade. By improving purchasing and marketing opportunities for its members, the organization helps wholesalers reduce costs and stay competitive. However, managing product data across multiple suppliers, platforms, and languages had become a growing challenge.

“With Perfion, we can offer our members a much more flexible Product Data Management setup and provide data for their webshops and mobile apps in all the languages they need. Perfion makes it even more attractive for members to join us and helps us take a big step ahead of our competition. We will be profiting far more from Perfion than we imagined.”

The Challenge: Limited Flexibility in Product Information Management

Zevij-Necomij’s members rely on EZ-base, a Dutch industry-specific database that provides detailed product data for over 2 million items. However, not all suppliers use EZ-base, and wholesalers had limited options for adding their own product information, such as videos or custom classifications. The existing setup also made it difficult to integrate product data between ERP systems, EZ-base, and webshops.

To better support its members, Zevij-Necomij sought a more flexible Product Information Management (PIM) system that could work alongside EZ-base while allowing wholesalers to manage and enhance their own product data.

The Solution: Perfion PIM

Zevij-Necomij found its answer in Perfion PIM, a Microsoft-based solution that seamlessly integrates with existing systems. Every day, EZ-base product data is imported into Perfion, where wholesalers can enhance it with additional information, including texts, images, and videos. From Perfion, updated product data is then distributed directly to wholesalers’ webshops, apps, and marketing materials.

The Results: More Control, More Languages, and Competitive Advantage

  • Greater Flexibility: Wholesalers can now customize and enrich their product data while maintaining a single source of truth.
  • Multi-Language Support: Perfion will soon enable product data translations in Dutch, English, German, and French.
  • Branded Webshops & Apps: Members can easily connect their webshops to Perfion and access a shared mobile app that displays live product data.
  • Automated Catalogs & Marketing Materials: Perfion integrates with Adobe InDesign, making it easier to generate catalogs, newsletters, and factsheets.
