Paperflow, developed by Boyum IT, uses advanced AI to process invoices, credit notes, and receipts by integrating extracted data into ERP systems and workflows. By leveraging AI models, Paperflow reduces manual labour and boosts operational efficiency for businesses worldwide.
We’re looking for a Machine Learning Engineer with production-level systems expertise. You’ll optimize and scale our document processing engine, build data pipelines, and manage end-to-end ML (training, evaluation, optimization, deployment) on cloud platforms. You’ll work closely with ML and software engineers as well as product managers to deliver production-ready solutions. Our CI/CD is based on Azure DevOps, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code for seamless deployments.
Responsibilities
- Enhance and maintain our Python-based document processing engine using neural networks, heuristic rules, and post-processing.
- Design and optimize Dagster pipelines to produce high-quality training and evaluation datasets.
- Build ML training pipelines in Azure ML using PyTorch and Hugging Face Transformers.
- Integrate third-party OCR and document processing solutions (including LLM-based) to expand capabilities.
- Develop evaluation frameworks for tasks like NER, classification, similarity detection, and semantic search.
- Deploy and scale models with Triton Inference Server and Azure ML.
- Implement CI/CD via Azure DevOps for testing, format checks, and deployment.
- Contribute to infrastructure using Kubernetes, Helm, and Bicep.
- Write clean Python with type hints, maintain tests, and document methods and results.
- Stay current on emerging technologies to enhance system performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in ML, data science, or software development roles.
- Strong Python, SQL, and Pandas skills.
- Familiar with PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, MLflow, and data pipelines (Dagster or similar).
- Experience deploying models with Triton Inference Server and working in Azure cloud.
- Comfortable with Elasticsearch (semantic search via embeddings).
- Proficiency with Git, Docker, Azure DevOps, and basic Infra-as-Code (e.g., Bicep).
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and Helm is beneficial.
- Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills in English.
- C# or Go is a plus.
