How Buch & Holm transformed product content and catalog creation with Perfion PIM

August 5, 2025

From fragmented systems to a single source of truth

Buch & Holm, a leading Danish supplier of laboratory and quality control equipment, needed a better way to manage product information across their webshop, ERP, and marketing channels. With over 30,000 SKUs and a custom-built Access database for product texts, their old setup was time-consuming, fragile, and dependent on a single person. Perfion changed that.

“We were convinced from the first time Perfion was presented to us. We fell for its user-friendliness and Excel-like interface. But what really made the difference was the Rich Text field—it saved us an extreme load of working hours by preserving formatting when importing our 30,000 SKUs. Perfion saves me about 25-50% of the time I used to spend on the same tasks.”

– Lisbeth Krog, Catalogue Manager at Buch & Holm A/S

The challenge: Manual processes and isolated systems slowed down progress

Buch & Holm managed product specs in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, while product descriptions were stored in a homegrown Access database. Exporting product texts could only happen one at a time. Creating a catalog with multiple products wasn’t possible without significant manual work. On top of that, only one employee had the knowledge needed to transfer the data, making the entire process vulnerable and difficult to scale.

The solution: Perfion PIM integrated with NAV and Sana Commerce

By implementing Perfion, Buch & Holm moved all product data into one place. The integration with Dynamics NAV and their Sana Commerce webshop allowed automatic synchronization of all product information, excluding prices and stock, directly from Perfion.

Key capabilities include:

  • Displaying catalog content directly in the webshop thanks to Sana–Perfion integrationcustomized marketing material tailored to specific customer segments, without starting from scratch each time.
  • Organizing SKUs into manageable categories
  • Detecting outdated product texts more easily
  • Quickly creating PDF catalogs from selected product groups
  • Exporting tailored Excel sheets with customer-specific product information

The results: faster processes and better output, not just savings

  • 25–50% time savings on catalog and product data management
  • Catalogs now always reflect the latest product information
  • Errors and outdated content are easier to catch and correct
  • More time is now spent improving quality rather than just maintaining content
  • Sana B2B E-commerce Award 2020 for Best User Experience

Buch & Holm’s goal was about more than saving money, it was to raise the bar for quality in product presentation. With Perfion, they’re achieving both.
