Security Engineer

We’re looking for a technically curious Security Engineer who enjoys working across domains, making sense of ambiguity, and helping teams move toward better security outcomes. This role is less about owning systems end-to-end, and more about understanding challenges, exploring options, and enabling others to implement secure solutions.

What you'll do

Most of your work will involve understanding a problem, helping teams reason about security implications, and supporting them in implementing sensible solutions.

  • Help teams across the company understand security challenges, assess risk, and explore appropriate solutions.
  • Perform internal security assessments, technical reviews, and targeted penetration testing across products and platforms.
  • Participate in architectural sparring sessions, helping teams reason about security-related trade-offs and design decisions.
  • Help design and set up monitoring and detection, and act as an extra set of eyes on patterns and trends, while response and ownership remain with the owning teams.
  • Support security and availability incidents, and gradually learn to take on incident coordination responsibilities.
  • Advise non-technical departments (such as HR or Finance) on secure handling of data, access, and workflows.
  • Assist with audits, security reviews, and internal investigations as part of ongoing governance and compliance work.
  • Contribute to security awareness, enablement, and ambassador programs across the company.

How we work as a team

We’re intentionally building a small security team where we work closely together, help each other, and know each other well. We collaborate a lot, joke when it makes sense, and take the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. You’ll be mentored directly by the Director of Security, with a strong focus on helping you grow professionally over time. That includes learning how to reason about security, make trade-offs, communicate clearly, and gradually take on more responsibility as you grow into the role. We value trust, openness, and curiosity over knowing everything on day one.

What we expect you to bring

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • A junior to mid-level profile, or a strong technical background transitioning into security.
  • Comfortable working broadly rather than specializing deeply in a single niche.
  • Strong technical curiosity and willingness to research problems you haven’t solved before.
  • Ability to listen carefully, ask good questions, and translate concerns into practical recommendations.
  • Comfortable collaborating with developers, operators, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Calm, structured thinking under pressure.
  • A mindset built on trust, responsibility, and shared ownership.
