The challenge: complex data and an aging ERP system
For years, Baril relied on an aging ERP system supported by additional software to manage its recipes, essentially the “bill of materials” for each coating. While this setup worked for a time, it could no longer keep pace with the company’s rapid growth.
To support future expansion, Baril decided to migrate to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and complement it with Perfion as a centralized data management solution.

To make this transformation a success, Baril partnered with Sheph Solutions, a Dutch Perfion partner with deep expertise in Business Central integration.

Using Perfion as a stepping stone for data migration
Sheph Solutions implemented Perfion Product Information Management (PIM) as Baril’s central data management platform. The first step was importing all product and recipe data from the legacy ERP system into Perfion. From there, only the data relevant for production were transferred to Business Central, keeping the ERP system clean, lean, and high-performing.
“One of the key advantages of Perfion,” explains Martin Post, Functional consultant / Sales from Sheph Solutions, “is that you can filter and transfer only the data relevant for production into Business Central. This prevents the ERP from being cluttered with unnecessary information and ensures optimal performance.”
Using Perfion for e-commerce
Baril markets its diverse range of commercial products via the brand fairf, using an e-commerce platform powered by Sana Commerce. Managing this wide assortment in multiple product lines, qualities, colors, and languages, used to be a massive challenge.

says Martin.
Now, Perfion acts as the single source of truth for all e-commerce product data. It ensures that thousands of product records are always up to date and accurate, and it automatically supplies them to the appropriate channels. This way, Baril’s global partners and customers always receive consistent and reliable product information.

End-to-end communication across the value chain
Today, Perfion forms the data backbone of Baril’s entire process chain - from product launch through production to sales.
- Product configurations are created and maintained in Perfion.
- Only production-relevant data are transferred from Perfion to Business Central’s BOM.
- Sales and marketing data are seamlessly communicated to Baril’s different Sana webshops, fully integrated with Perfion.
