1.200+ Hours of Movement: Energy for LIFE in Motion at Boyum IT

12.06.2026

Across the full Energy for LIFE Challenge in May, Boyum IT colleagues completed more than 1,200 hours of physical activity globally.

The Energy for LIFE Challenge is an internal activity competition that has been part of Boyum IT for many years. It was created to encourage and motivate colleagues to stay active, while also building connection, energy, and a bit of friendly competition across offices and countries.

But for us, the challenge is about more than movement. It is one of the ways we bring our culture to life.

At Boyum IT, our culture is built around Energy for LIFE: Family, Social, Fit, and Excellence. It reflects how we care, connect, and grow together as one global company. Energy for LIFE is about feeling energized, in flow, and sustainably engaged, both as individuals and as teams.

Every employee is linked to an office team for the challenge, including colleagues who work fully remotely. This makes it possible for everyone to participate, contribute, and feel part of the shared activity, no matter where they work from.

At Boyum IT, we want to be a healthy place to work. For us, that means creating a workplace where well-being is not only something we talk about, but something we support through everyday actions, shared initiatives, and a culture that encourages people to stay energized and connected.

Movement across offices and countries

During May, colleagues joined the challenge by logging different types of physical activity. Some went for walks, others ran, cycled, worked out, or found their own way to stay active.

Each colleague contributes to an office team, also when working fully remotely. This helps create a sense of shared motivation and friendly competition across locations, while keeping the challenge inclusive for everyone.

The purpose is not to be the fastest or the strongest. It is about encouraging movement in a way that works for each person.

Across offices, colleagues cheered each other on, followed the rankings, shared progress, and helped create motivation throughout the month. The result was more than 1,200 hours of activity completed globally, and a strong reminder that small actions can create shared energy.

More than a competition

The Energy for LIFE Challenge is an internal competition, but it is about much more than numbers and rankings.

  • It is about making well-being visible.
  • It is about creating motivation to move, take breaks, and recharge.
  • It is about building social connections across teams and locations.
  • And it is about supporting healthy habits in a way that feels simple, inclusive, and fun.

This is closely connected to how we think about culture at Boyum IT. Culture is not only created through large events or formal initiatives. It is also built through the small things that happen every day: encouraging a colleague, joining a walk, taking a healthy break, celebrating progress, or creating moments of connection across teams.

For a global company, initiatives like this help colleagues feel connected beyond their daily work. Whether someone is based in one of our offices or working fully remotely, the challenge gives everyone a shared activity to be part of.

Supporting a healthy place to work

Being a healthy place to work is not created through one initiative alone. It is built through many actions that support well-being, connection, and sustainable performance.

The Energy for LIFE Challenge is one example of how we bring this ambition into practice.

By encouraging colleagues to stay active, we support both physical and mental well-being. By making it a shared challenge, we create connections and team spirit. And by focusing on sustainable energy, we reinforce the importance of taking care of ourselves and each other in a busy work environment.

This is also why initiatives such as activity challenges, healthy habits, movement breaks, office activities, and well-being conversations matter. They help make well-being part of the everyday employee experience, not something separate from work.

Energy for LIFE in practice

At Boyum IT, Energy for LIFE stands for Family, Social, Fit, and Excellence.

The challenge connects especially closely to all four values.

Family

The challenge supports the idea that we care about the whole person, not only the work they do. Encouraging movement, balance, and well-being is part of creating a workplace where people can stay energized both at work and outside work.

Social

The challenge creates shared motivation, friendly competition, and connections across offices and countries. It gives colleagues something simple and positive to engage around, regardless of role, location, or team.

Fit

The challenge encourages colleagues to stay active and take care of their physical and mental well-being in a way that works for them. It is not about one specific type of activity. It is about finding ways to move, recharge, and build healthy habits.

Excellence

The challenge supports sustainable performance by reminding us that energy, focus, and well-being are connected. When people feel energized and in flow, they are better able to collaborate, contribute, and do meaningful work.

For us, Energy for LIFE is not only a culture statement. It is something we bring to life through the way we work, connect, and support each other.

A big thank you to all colleagues who joined the challenge, logged activities, encouraged each other, and helped keep the energy high throughout May. More than 1,200 hours of physical activity is a great result, but the real success is the shared motivation and connection created along the way.

At Boyum IT, we believe energy is something we build together.
